Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC)

KTRC is an intelligent system that calculates the slip level of the rear wheel (wheelspin) during acceleration and controls the optimum slip ratio to suit the riding conditions. KTRC can contribute to a stable ride for sports riding. KTRC cannot respond to every condition. Acceleration may be delayed under certain conditions.

WARNING
KTRC cannot protect the rider from all possible hazards and is not a substitute for safe riding practices. Be aware of how the KTRC system operates and its limitations. It is the rider’s re- responsibility to ride at appropriate speeds and manner. If a wheelie occurs due to excessive acceleration, KTRC will control the engine output to make the front wheel contact with the road surface. In this case,  slightly release the throttle grip so that the front wheel stays in contact with the road surface.
WARNING
Avoid an abrupt moving off on a slippery road surface that causes the rear wheel to slip. On a slippery road surface, never suddenly open or close the throttle grip or abruptly disengage or disengage the clutch. Abrupt throttle and/or clutch control on a slippery road sur- face could loss of stability of the motorcycle and lead to a topple resulting in serious injury or death. KTRC determines the traction control characteristics with nine mode selections. KTRC can also be set to OFF.

KTRC Mode2022-Kawasaki-NINJA-H2-R-fig-133

  • Mode 1:
    • KTRC least intervenes among the nine modes. This mode gives maximum acceleration for sport riding.
  • Mode 9:
    • KTRC intervenes early enough to prevent the rear wheel from spinning whenever possible. This mode is used in low-grip situations.
