Power windows

Each door has a control panel for the electrically-driven power windows.
The driver’s door has controls for operating all windows and also to activate the child safety locks.
  1. Driver’s door control panel.
  2. Electric child safety locks that deactivate the controls in the rear doors to prevent doors or windows from being opened from the inside.
  3. Controls for rear windows.
  4. Controls for front windows.

Warning
Children, other passengers, or objects may be trapped by the moving parts.

  • Always operate the windows with caution.
  • Do not allow children to play with the controls.
  • Never leave children alone in the car.
  • Remember to always switch off the power supply to the power windows by setting the car’s electrical system in ignition position 0, and then take the key with you when leaving the car.
  • Never put an object or part of the body through the windows, even if the car’s electrical system is fully disconnected.

Operating power windows

Using the driver’s door control panel, all power windows can be operated – using the control panels in the other doors operates the power window in the individual door.
The power windows are equipped with pinch protection. If any fault arises with the pinch protection, a reset sequence can be tested.

Children, other passengers, or objects may be trapped by the moving parts.

  • Always operate the windows with caution.
  • Do not allow children to play with the controls.
  • Never leave children alone in the car.
  • Remember to always switch off the power supply to the power windows by setting the car’s electrical system in ignition position 0, and then take the key with you when leaving the car.
  • Never put an object or part of the body through the windows, even if the car’s electrical system is fully disconnected.
  1. Operating the power windows.
  2. Operating without auto. Move one of the controls gently up or down.
  3. The power windows move up or down as long as the control is held in position.
  4. Operating with auto. Move one of the controls up or down to the end position and release it.
  5. The window runs automatically to its end position.
  6. In order for the power windows to be used, the ignition position must be I or II.
  7. The power windows can be operated for a few minutes after the car has been switched off and after the ignition has been switched off – although not after a door has been opened.
  8. It is only possible to operate one control at a time.
  9. It can also be operated using a key or keyless opening with a door handle.
Warning
Check that children or other passengers are not at risk of crushing when all the windows are closed with a key or keyless opening with a door handle.
Note
One way to reduce the pulsating wind noise when the rear windows are open is to also open the front windows slightly.
Note
The windows cannot be opened at speeds above approx. 180 km/h (approx. 112 mph), but they can be closed.
The driver always bears responsibility for following traffic regulations in force.
Note
It may not be possible to operate windows at low temperatures.

Using the sunblind

The sun blinds are built into each of the rear doors, and there is a sun blind built into the rear parcel shelf.

Rear door – manually operated

  1. The figure is schematic – the version may vary.
  2. Hook with associated catch
  3. Pull up the sun blind and attach it to the hook in the upper door frame.
  4. The window can still be opened and closed with the sun blind.

Rear window parcel shelf

  1. There is an electrically operated sun blind built on the rear window shelf.
  2. In order that the sun blind can be operated, the car’s electrical system must be in ignition position II.
Note
It may not be possible to operate the sun blind in low temperatures.

Sunroof

The sunroof can be opened vertically at the rear edge (ventilation position) or horizontally (open position).
The sunroof has a wind deflector. There is also an inner sunscreen that is closed manually.
The sunroof is operated with a control located in the roof. The control is activated when the car’s electrical system is in ignition position I or II.

  • Always operate the windows with caution.
  • Do not allow children to play with the controls.
  • Never leave children alone in the car.
  • Remember to always switch off the power supply to the power windows by setting the car’s electrical system in ignition position 0, and then take the key with you when leaving the car.
  • Never put an object or part of the body through the windows, even if the car’s electrical system is fully disconnected.

Important

  • Do not open the sunroof when load carriers are fitted.
  • Do not place any heavy objects on the sunroof.

Important

  • Remove ice and snow before opening the sunroof. Take care, not to scratch surfaces or damage strips.
  • Do not operate the sunroof if it has frozen closed.

Wind deflector

The sunroof has a wind deflector that is folded up when the sunroof is in the open position.

Operating the sunroof

When operating with the control that is fitted in the roof, the sunroof is first opened horizontally to a comfortable position.
In the ventilation position, the sunroof is raised at the rear edge.

  • Remember to always switch off the power supply to the power windows by setting the car’s electrical system in ignition position 0, and then take the key with you when leaving the car.

  1. The movement of the sunroof is stopped if it reaches the comfort position or the maximum opening or closing position.
  2. The movement is also stopped if the control is operated again while the movement is in progress.
  3. In order that the sunroof can be operated, the car’s electrical system must be in ignition position I or II.
  4. It can also be operated using a key or keyless opening with a door handle.

Warning
Check that children or other passengers are not at risk of crushing when all the windows are closed with a key or keyless opening with a door handle.

Important
Check that the sunroof is properly closed when closing.

Opening and closing the sunroof using the roof control

  1. Open the sunroof – swipe backward over the control.
  2. The sunroof first reaches the comfort position. In order to open to the maximum opening position – swipe over the control backward a second time.
  3. Close the sunroof by swiping forwards instead.
  4. The sunroof does not stop at the comfort position during closing.

Note
It may not be possible to operate windows at low temperatures.

Ventilation position

  1. Ventilation position, vertically at the rear edge.
  2. Open and close by tapping once anywhere on the touch-sensitive control.
  3. When the ventilation position is selected the front glass cover is raised at its rear edge. If the sunblind is fully closed when the ventilation position is selected, then it opens automatically approx. 50 mm (approx. 2 inches).

Sunscreen

  • The sunroof features a manual, sliding interior sunscreen.
  • The sunscreen slides back automatically when the sunroof is opened. Grip the handle and slide the sunscreen forward to close it.
