The function can notify the driver if another vehicle further down the road has activated its hazard warning flashers or detected slippery road conditions. You will also be notified if your own vehicle detects slippery road conditions.
Connected Safety can assist the driver with the following:
- Hazard warning flashers alert
- Slippery road alerts
Connected Safety communication between vehicles only works for vehicles that are equipped with the function and have it activated. Connected Safety also needs to be accepted via Polestar privacy.
When your vehicle approaches a vehicle with its hazard warning flashers on, this symbol will appear in the instrument panel.
If your vehicle detects reduced friction between the tires and the road, this symbol will be shown in the instrument panel. This information can then be forwarded to vehicles approaching your vehicle’s location.
If your vehicle receives information about slippery conditions from another vehicle, this symbol will be shown in the instrument panel.
- The function is supplementary driver support intended to facilitate driving and help make it safer – it cannot handle all situations in all traffic, weather and road conditions.
- The driver is advised to read all sections in the Manual about this function to learn of its limitations, which the driver must be aware of before using the function.
- Driver support functions are not a substitute for the driver’s attention and judgment. The driver is always responsible for ensuring the vehicle is driven in a safe manner, at the appropriate speed, with an appropriate distance to other vehicles, and in accordance with current traffic rules and regulations.

Polestar Connect
The functions are available via the Polestar app and the CONNECT and SOS buttons in the vehicle’s ceiling console:
In the event of an accident, emergency assistance (ambulance, police, etc.) can be summoned to the vehicle. In less critical situations, e.g. a flat tire, roadside assistance can be called out.
You can use the Polestar app to, for example, lock or unlock the vehicle and check the battery level.
The SOS button must only be used in the event of accident, illness or an external threat against the vehicle and its passengers. The SOS function is only intended for emergency situations. Misuse could incur extra charges.
The Polestar app and the CONNECT button can be used for all other services, including roadside assistance.
This Polestar is equipped with the Polestar Connect service. This means that no extra subscription is required for it to work. The intention is that the service will be active as long as the vehicle is used and the technology and cellular phone network allow. Polestar reserves the right to reduce the service when it is no longer practically possible to maintain full functionality. If the vehicle has not been used for more than a year, it is considered to be no longer in use.
Polestar ID
The available services can vary over time and depend on equipment level and market.
One example of a service in which a Polestar ID is needed is to check the vehicle via your phone using the Polestar app.
If the username/password for a service (e.g. Polestar Connect) is changed, the change will also automatically be applied to other services.
You can create your Polestar ID on the website polestar.com or in the Polestar app.
