Troubleshooting and repairs
The air conditioning system contains a fluorescent tracer substance. Ultraviolet light is used to search for leaks in the system.
Contact Polestar Customer Support if you experience any problems with the climate system.
Vehicles with R134a refrigerant
The air conditioning system contains the refrigerant R134a under pressure. Service and repairs to the system should only be done by an authorized workshop.
Vehicles with R1234yf refrigerant
The air conditioning system contains the refrigerant R1234yf under pressure. In accordance with SAE J2845 (Technician Training for Safe Service and Containment of Refrigerants Used in Mobile A/C System), service and repairs to the refrigerant system may only be performed by trained and certified technicians in order to ensure the safety of the system.

Operating, servicing and maintaining a passenger vehicle can expose you to chemicals including engine exhaust, carbon monoxide, phthalates, and lead, which are known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. To minimize exposure, avoid breathing exhaust, do not idle the engine except as necessary, service your vehicle in a well ventilated area and wear gloves or wash your hands frequently when servicing your vehicle. Contact Polestar Customer Support for assistance finding a recommended workshop for service and maintenance. These workshops have personnel with the right competence, service literature and special tools to provide the highest quality of service.
To ensure Polestar’s warranty is not invalidated, check and follow the information provided in the Status and Warranty booklet.
Service and repairs
Service the vehicle regularly. Follow Polestar’s recommended service intervals.
If inspection and repair are required, then only an authorized workshop designated by Polestar may carry out the work.
Do not perform any repairs on the vehicle yourself. Electrical cables and/or components that have come loose may only be corrected by an authorized workshop – contact Polestar Customer Support.
