Once a main user (admin) has connected their app to the vehicle, additional vehicle users can be added.
Connecting the Polestar app to the vehicle (admin)
This procedure must be carried out in the vehicle:
- Make sure that you have your Polestar ID, the vehicle identification number (VIN) and all of the vehicle’s keys with you before you start. The Polestar ID can be created by logging in to the Polestar app, and the vehicle identification number can be found in the windshield, in the center display, etc.
- Sit in the vehicle with all of the vehicle’s keys with you. Make sure your vehicle is positioned in an area with coverage and that your mobile device has an internet connection.
- Log in to the Polestar app using your Polestar ID and follow the instructions in the app.
- Then follow the instructions in the vehicle’s center display.

Connecting the Polestar app to the vehicle (user)
This procedure must be carried out in the vehicle:
- Make sure that you have your Polestar ID, the vehicle identification number (VIN) and one of the vehicle’s keys with you before you start. The Polestar ID can be created by logging in to the Polestar app, and the vehicle identification number can be found in the windshield, in the center display, etc.
For a more customized experience and support, it is recommended that every user create a personal Polestar ID.

- Log in to the Polestar app using your Polestar ID and follow the instructions in the app.
- Then follow the instructions in the vehicle’s center display.

Tips when using the Polestar app
If you experience disruptions with the Polestar app even though the car to which the app is linked is outdoors in an open location with cellular coverage and your mobile device has a good Internet connection, try reinstalling the app on your mobile device.
If the vehicle was previously owned, however, you should first check whether the Polestar Connect service is activated in the vehicle.

You can download the app free of charge from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
For the Polestar app to work as well as possible, ensure that you have updated the app to the latest version available for your device. More information on technical requirements concerning version, as well as operating systems and compatibility for device models, is available when downloading apps.
Polestar reserves the right to end the maintenance of older versions of apps and remove them from existing app stores at any time.
Internet connection
Because the app communicates with the vehicle via the Internet, your mobile device must have an Internet connection to perform your commands.

To remove the connection between the vehicle and the Polestar app, you must be logged in to the app. If you do not have access to the app, contact Polestar Customer Support and explain that you want to sell your vehicle.

Internet connection required
When using the Polestar app, your mobile device will send and receive data via the internet. If you do not have a data plan, then your cell phone carrier may charge you for that data.
