For example, you can lock or unlock the vehicle and check the fuel level directly from a phone via the Polestar 1 app. If an accident occurs, emergency assistance, e.g. ambulance or police, can be sent to the vehicle. In less critical situations, e.g. a flat tire, roadside assistance can be called out.
The SOS button must only be used in the event of accident, illness or an external threat against the vehicle and its passengers. The SOS function is only intended for emergency situations. Misuse could incur extra charges.
The Polestar 1 app and the ON CALL button can be used for all other services, including roadside assistance.
The Polestar Connect systemPolestar Connect is connected to the vehicle’s safety and alarm systems and to other systems in the vehicle, such as lock and climate systems. The vehicle has an integrated modem for communication with Polestar Assistance and the Polestar 1 app. GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) is used to locate the vehicle.

Polestar Connect messages
To save the battery when the vehicle is not used for prolonged periods, the Polestar Connect with Sensus Connect system is set to standby.
The Polestar Connect with Sensus Connect subscription is about to expire45 days before the Polestar Connect subscription is due to expire, the message Polestar Connect subscription expires soonwill appear in the vehicle’s display. Users of the Android or iOS version of the Polestar 1 app will also receive reminders in the app.
Polestar Connect with Sensus Connect has been switched offIf your Polestar Connect subscription has expired and the Polestar Connect system has switched off, a message appears in the vehicle’s display stating Polestar Connect subscription has expired.
Polestar Connect subscription
Status of subscriptionThe status of your subscription is shown in the Polestar 1 app under Vehicle informationin the Vehicle tab. The subscription can also be extended from here.
If you do not have access to the Polestar 1 app, contact Polestar Customer Support. They will help you to find information on the expiry date of the subscription. You then need to provide the vehicle identification number.
Message to indicate that your subscription will soon be expiring45 days before the Polestar Connect subscription is due to expire, the message Polestar Connect subscription expires soonwill appear in the vehicle’s display. Users of the Android or iOS version of the Polestar 1 app will also receive reminders in the app.
Deactivated subscriptionWhen the subscription period has ended, the message Polestar Connect subscription has expired will be shown in the vehicle’s display.
You cannot use the Polestar Connect services or the Polestar 1 app when the subscription has expired. Though, the emergency services via the SOS button and automatic collision alert will continue to function. To use Polestar Connect again, you will need to renew your subscription.
Roadside assistance costsRoadside Assistance costs are included for the first 3 years after purchase of a new Polestar. Once this time has passed, free roadside assistance is offered on most markets if the vehicle is serviced regularly. Polestar Customer Support can inform you of the status of your roadside assistance agreement.
Polestar Connect can help you get back on the road, even if your Roadside Assistance agreement has expired. If this is the case, you will be asked to pay the cost for the service that is sent out to you.
If you do not have a valid road assistance agreement, additional recovery costs may apply.
