Alarm indicator
A red indicator light on the dashboard shows the status of the alarm:
- Indicator off – the alarm is disarmed.
- The indicator flashes once every two seconds – the alarm is armed.
- The diode flashes rapidly after the vehicle is unlocked – the alarm has been triggered.
When armed, the alarm will be triggered if:
- the hood, trunk lid or any door has opened
- a movement is detected in the passenger compartment.
- the vehicle is lifted or towed away
- a battery cable is disconnected.
- the alarm siren is disconnected.
Alarm signals
The following occurs if the alarm is triggered:
- A siren will sound for 30 seconds or until the alarm is turned off.
- The hazard warning flashers will flash for 5 minutes or until the alarm is turned off.
If the reason the alarm was triggered is not rectified, the alarm cycle will repeat up to 10 times.
Movement and inclination sensor
Movement and inclination sensors react to movements within the vehicle, for example, if a window is broken or if anyone attempts to tow away the vehicle.
To help prevent the alarm from being unintentionally triggered:
- Close all windows when leaving the vehicle.
- If the climate system is being used – direct airflows so they are not pointing upwards in the passenger compartment.
The alarm level can also be reduced in the center display.
