2022 Land Rover New Range Rover Tailgate Event Suite

OVERVIEW

WARNING

Make sure the relevant safety warnings and cautions have been read and understood before operating the tailgate event suite. See TOUCHSCREEN SAFETY and OPENING AND CLOSING THE POWERED TAILGATE.

NOTES

Tailgate event suite is only available on vehicles supporting Meridian™ 3D Surround or Meridian™ Signature sound system options.

The tailgate event suite can be controlled via the apps screen or in-vehicle controller. See APPS SCREEN or IN-VEHICLE CONTROLLER.

The tailgate event suite allows for media to be broadcast via an open tailgate.

When a tailgate event suite has been activated:

  • The gesture tailgate feature is disabled. See GESTURE TAILGATE.
  • Walk-away locking is disabled. See WALK-AWAY LOCKING.
  • Phone calls are unable to be made or received via the touchscreen. See PHONE SYSTEM OVERVIEW.

Tailgate event suite is only available on vehicles supporting Meridian™ 3D Surround or Meridian™ Signature sound system options.

NOTES

Power closing or manually closing the tailgate during an event session automatically brings the feature to an end. Touch the Start Tailgate Event Suite soft key on the touchscreen to resume.

The tailgate event suite can be controlled via the apps screen or in-vehicle controller. See APPS SCREEN or IN-VEHICLE CONTROLLER.

The tailgate event suite allows for media to be broadcast via an open tailgate.

In order for the tailgate event suite to operate the following conditions must be met:

  • The vehicle is stationary.
  • The vehicle is in Park (P).
  • The engine is switched off.
  • There is sufficient vehicle battery charge.

To operate the tailgate event suite from the apps screen:

  1. Touch TAILGATE EVENT SUITE on the apps screen. See APPS SCREEN.
  2. Touch Start Tailgate Event Suite soft key.
    NOTES

    If the operating conditions have not been met, an error message is displayed.

  3. Tailgate opening: If the operating conditions have been met, this message is displayed and the tailgate powers to a set opening height from a closed or open position.
  4. To pause the tailgate opening, touch the stop icon¹.
  5. When the tailgate opening is paused, two icon options are displayed: Close and end² or Open and continue³. Touch an icon option to continue.
  6. When the tailgate has reached the set operational height, an active feature screen is displayed on the touchscreen.

TAILGATE EVENT SUITE ACTIVE FEATURE SCREEN:

When active, the touchscreen tailgate event suite feature screen displays three operating options:

  • Media icon: The feature screen displays information of the current selected media. Touch the media icon¹ and follow the on-screen options to make changes to the current selected media.
  • End session, close tailgate icon²: Touch to end the event session and close the tailgate.
  • End session, keep tailgate open icon³: Touch to end the event session, but allow the tailgate to remain open.

The tailgate event suite allows for the enabling, disabling, or adjusting of selected feature settings.

AUDIO SETTINGS:

Adjustment of the audio settings for the tailgate event suite are made via the touchscreen. See AUDIO SETTINGS.

LOW BATTERY WARNING:
NOTES

In the event of a low battery warning it is recommended that the vehicle’s battery charge be restored. See INTELLIGENT POWER SYSTEM MANAGEMENT (IPSM) .

NOTES

The available leisure battery operating time can vary, depending on the vehicle’s specification. Other external factors, such as extreme temperatures, can also affect the available leisure battery operating time.

The tailgate event suite session is powered via the vehicle’s battery leisure supply.

In the event of a low battery, the following warning events are triggered:

  1. First, an audible warning message is given over the audio system. The touchscreen displays a warning message and indicates the battery power reserve level remaining.
  2. Second, another audible warning message is given over the audio system. The touchscreen displays a warning message and indicates the battery power reserve level as low.
  3. Finally, when the vehicle’s battery power reserve has been depleted the tailgate event suite session is ended.
TAILGATE AMBIENT LIGHTING:
NOTES

The tailgate ambient lighting switches are located in each of the tailgate speaker housings.

For a tailgate event suite session, the tailgate ambient lighting can be adjusted.

To adjust the tailgate ambient lighting:

  1. A first press and release, of the tailgate ambient light, enables full brightness.
  2. A second press and release reduces the brightness.
  3. A third press and release switches the tailgate ambient light off.
