Before attempting to lock the vehicle, always make sure of the following:
Briefly press the lock button on the smart key to lock the vehicle and arm the perimetric alarm. The hazard warning lights flash to confirm.
Single locking secures the vehicle and prevents the doors from being opened from the outside. The doors may still be unlocked and opened from inside the vehicle.
Once armed, the alarm activates if:
Using the door handle buttons to keyless lock:
When using keyless locking, the vehicle does not lock if:
If locking is unsuccessful the hazard warning lights do not flash, and the power-fold mirrors, if enabled, do not fold in. Make sure that the vehicle’s ignition is switched off, and that all of the doors, the hood, and the taildoor are closed properly. Lock the vehicle again. If the mislock persists, consult a retailer/authorized repairer.
This feature is not available on your vehicle at this time.
It is possible to temporarily disable the activation of the alarm sensors when the vehicle is locked. When the ignition is switched off, an instructional message is displayed on the instrument panel detailing how to deactivate the alarm.
If uncertain whether the vehicle is locked and armed, press the lock button on the smart key. With keyless entry, press an exterior door handle lock button. The hazard warning lights flash once to indicate and confirm the current lock status.
When locking the vehicle with the smart key, a mislock can occur if:
If any of the above are present, the vehicle does not lock and an audible mislock error warning sounds. The hazard warning lights do not flash and the power-fold mirrors, if enabled, do not fold in. Check that all of the doors, the windows, the hood, and the tailgate are closed properly. Make sure the vehicle’s ignition is switched off. Lock the vehicle again. If the mislock persists, consult a retailer/authorized repairer.
When the passive arming feature is enabled, it automatically arms the perimetric alarm system 60 seconds after the driver’s door is closed. All of the other doors, the hood, and the tailgate must also be closed before passive arming enables. The ignition must also be switched off with no valid smart keys left inside the vehicle.
Passive arming does not lock the vehicle, although access to the loadspace via the interior or exterior release buttons is prevented.
Once the peremetric alarm is armed, if any door is opened without a valid smart key in the vicinity, the alarm sounds.
Passive arming can be enabled or disabled by a retailer/authorized repairer.
If a fault is detected with a security sensor, an audible warning sounds from the alarm when the vehicle is unlocked. If this condition occurs, please visit a retailer/authorized repairer for rectification.
If the alarm activates, it can be deactivated by any one of the following methods:
The cause of the last alarm activation can be displayed in the Vehicle menu in the touchscreen. See SYSTEM SETTINGS.
In the event of a fault with the alarm or locking system, the vehicle can be manually secured using the emergency key blade, if required. The emergency key blade is contained within the smart key body. See SMART KEY OPERATION.
To use the emergency key, open the driver’s door and locate the access cover for the emergency lock on the edge of the door. Insert the emergency key blade into the cover’s slot. Rotate the cover counter-clockwise to first release it. Pull the cover to remove it from the door. Keep the lock’s access cover safe.
Once the lock mechanism is turned, remove the emergency key blade. Refit the access cover and rotate the cover clockwise to secure it firmly. Close the door and confirm that it is locked by pulling the handle. Repeat the procedure for all other unlocked doors.
