2022 Land Rover New Range Rover Evoque Vehicle Recovery

RECOVERY METHOD

WARNING

Make sure that vehicle recovery and/or transportation is carried out by suitably qualified personnel, and the vehicle is secured correctly. Recovery and/or transportation carried out by unqualified personnel can result in serious injury or death.

CAUTION

The recovery agent must activate the transmission park release before recovery commences. Transmission park release instructions are covered in a separate publication for recovery personnel use. Failure to activate the transmission park release can result in serious transmission damage.

CAUTION

The vehicle should not be towed on all four wheels and should not be recovered with the front or rear wheels suspended. Doing so can result in serious transmission damage. The method for recovery and/or transportation of the vehicle is on a transporter or trailer designed for that purpose.

FRONT TOWING EYE

WARNING

The towing eye at the front of the vehicle is designed for on-road recovery only. If it is used for any other purpose, it may result in vehicle damage and serious injury.

WARNING

Use extreme caution when moving or towing the vehicle. Death or serious injury may occur.

To access the towing eye:

  1. Pop out the access cover by pressing the lower edge to release the securing clip. The cover is retained on the bumper by its tether but can be released for safe storage.
  2. Locate the towing eye through the bumper, and fully screw the towing eye counter-clockwise into the towing point until secure.
NOTES

Tighten or loosen the towing eye as required using the vehicle’s wheel brace. Pass the wheel brace through the towing eye and rotate to tighten/loosen as appropriate.

To refit the access cover, make sure the tether is correctly located. Align the lug into the recess in the bumper. Lightly press the top edge to engage the securing clip.

NOTES

When fitting the panel, make sure the center tab (2) and top edge clips are engaged in the bumper slots.

REAR TOWING EYE

WARNING

The towing eye at the rear of the vehicle is designed for on-road recovery only. If they are used for any other purpose, they may result in vehicle damage and serious injury.

WARNING

Use extreme caution when moving or towing the vehicle. Death or serious injury may occur.

  1. Pop out the access cover. The cover is retained on the bumper by its tether but can be released for safe stowage.
  2. Locate the towing eye through the bumper, and fully screw the towing eye counter-clockwise into the towing point until secure.
NOTES

Tighten or loosen the towing eye as required using the vehicle’s wheel brace. Pass the wheel brace through the towing eye and rotate to tighten/loosen as appropriate. To refit the access cover, make sure the tether is correctly located. Align the lug into the recess in the bumper. Lightly press the bottom edge to engage the securing clip.

WARNING

Use extreme caution when detaching towing equipment. Vehicle movement is possible which can result in serious injury.

OFF-ROAD RECOVERY

WARNING
