FOLDING THE CENTER SEATBACK
To fold the center seatback: Press the release button on the top of the seatback. Fold the center seat back forward into the lowered position.
To raise the center seatback: Lift the center seatback until it firmly locks into the upright position.
In an emergency, use the center seatback to exit the third-row seats.
MANUAL THIRD-ROW SEATS
The head restraint must always be raised when using the third-row seats. The head restraint must be positioned correctly to restrain rearward movement of the head in a collision or sudden stop.
Do not allow passengers to travel in the third-row seats when the second-row seats are in the folded or third-row access position.
Make sure the seat belts are correctly routed and not trapped behind the seats when raising the rear seatbacks. An incorrectly routed seat belt may not properly restrain an occupant during a collision or sudden stop.
Beware of trapping fingers when raising and lowering a third-row seat. Beware of trapping fingers when raising and lowering a third-row seat. Failure to do so creates a risk of entrapment and serious injury.
Take care when retrieving items that have fallen down the side, back, front, or underneath the seat. Sharp objects may be present in these areas, which could present a risk of injury. Always stop the vehicle before retrieving items.
The seat is heavy, so care should be taken when raising the seat.
To raise a third-row seat:
- From inside the loadspace, pull the strap on the rear of the seat to be raised. Lift the seat into the raised position.
- From inside the vehicle, lift the head restraint until it locks into the upright position.

ELECTRIC REAR SEAT OVERVIEW
Beware of trapping fingers when raising, lowering, and moving the rear seats and seatbacks. Failure to do so creates a risk of entrapment and serious injury.
Always make sure that objects carried in the vehicle are secured properly. In a collision or sudden stop, unsecured objects could be thrown inside the vehicle, striking and injuring occupants.
Take care when retrieving items that have fallen down the side, back, front, or underneath the seat. Sharp objects may be present in these areas, which could present a risk of injury. Always stop the vehicle before retrieving items.
After removing a child restraint, always make sure the lower anchor bar flap is fully closed. Failure to fully close a flap could hinder a seat fold maneuver. See FITTING LATCH CHILD RESTRAINTS.
If the rear window isolator button is pressed to inhibit the operation of the rear windows, electric rear seat movement is also inhibited. See ELECTRIC WINDOWS.
Switches to control the movement of the second and third-row seats are as follows:
- Loadspace third-row seatback switches. See ELECTRIC THIRD ROW SEATS.
- Loadspace second row seatback switches. See ELECTRIC SECOND ROW SEATS.
- Loadspace second and third-row seatback switches: Press to fold all second and third-row seatbacks.
- Third-row seatback switches. See ELECTRIC THIRD ROW SEATS.
- Second-row seatback recline switches. See ELECTRIC SECOND ROW SEATS.
- Third-row seat access switches. See ELECTRIC SECOND ROW SEATS.
The rear seatbacks can also be folded and raised via the touchscreen.
The second-row seats can be partially folded or raised if required. The third-row seats can only be fully folded or fully raised.
ELECTRIC SECOND-ROW SEATS
Beware of trapping fingers when raising, lowering, and moving the second-row seats. Failure to do so creates a risk of entrapment and serious injury.
Always make sure that objects carried in the vehicle are secured properly. In a collision or sudden stop, unsecured objects could be thrown inside the vehicle, striking and injuring occupants.
Make sure to keep any part of the body away from moving components. Failure to do so could result in serious injury or death in the event of a sudden stop or collision.
Before folding the second-row seats, make sure that all objects have been removed from the seat being folded. Failure to do so could potentially result in damage to the vehicle.
The second-row center seat belt incorporates a locking feature. The locking feature prevents the seat belt from being pulled out too far when the seatback is folded flat. To reset the feature, when returning the seatback to the upright position, extract the seat belt webbing until it stops. Return the seat belt webbing a small amount. The seat belt then operates as normal.
Before folding or raising a rear seat, make sure the rear seat belts are fully retracted and positioned against their respective D pillars.
Before reclining the second-row seats, make sure they are positioned fully rearward. Moving the second-row seats fully rearward reduces the potential of a clash with the front seats. In the event of a crash, the front seats move forward. Use the front seat controls to return the front seats to their original positions. See ELECTRIC FRONT SEATS. To recline the second-row seats, move the switch on the side of the seat backward. Release the switch when the seatback is in the required position.
Move the switch forward to raise the seatback.
THIRD ROW SEAT ACCESS POSITION:
To access or exit the third-row seats:
- Press the switch on the top of the seatback to fold the second-row seatback forward, while manually sliding the seat forward.
- Manually slide the seat to return it to the previous position. If the seat is not moved to the fully rearward position, press the switch to return the seat back to the fully upright position. If the seat is moved fully rearward, the seatback automatically returns to the fully upright position.
ELECTRIC THIRD-ROW SEATS
To avoid injury, the loadspace cover must not be left in the fitted position when the third-row seats are occupied. Failure to do so could potentially result in serious injury or death in the event of a sudden stop or collision.
Do not allow passengers to travel in the third-row seats when the second-row seats are in the folded or third-row access position.
Beware of trapping fingers when raising and lowering the third-row seat. Failure to do so creates a risk of entrapment and serious injury.
When raising the rear seats, make sure that the seat belts are correctly routed into the seat belt guides and not trapped behind the seats. An incorrectly routed seat belt may not properly restrain an occupant during a collision or sudden stop.
Always make sure that objects carried in the vehicle are secured properly. In the event of an accident, unsecured objects could cause serious injury or death.
Make sure nothing is left on the third-row seat or in the footwell when folding down the seat. Failure to do so could potentially result in damage to the vehicle.
The third-row seatbacks can be folded or raised individually. To fold or raise the seatbacks, use the switches located on the pillar adjacent to the second-row seats, or the switches located in the load space.
From inside the vehicle, pull the switch (1) to lower the right-side head restraint. Continue to pull the switch (1) to lower the third-row seatback. To raise the seatback, push and release the switch (1). When the seatback is in the fully raised position, manually raise the head restraint into position. Use switch (2) in the same way to move the left-side seat. From inside the loadspace, push the switch (1) to lower the right-side head restraint. Continue to push the switch (1) to lower the third-row seatback. To raise the seatback, pull and release the switch (1). The intelligent seat fold feature allows the rear seats to be easily and conveniently configured in a number of different ways. The feature automatically calculates if any seats will clash, and takes appropriate action to make sure any fold or raise sequence is successful.
If required, the Front Seat Clash Avoidance feature can be switched off via the Seat screen.
The rear seats can be configured as follows:
- The second and third-row seatbacks can be folded or raised using switches located in the load space.

The third-row seats can only be fully folded or fully raised.
RESTRICTED REAR SEAT TRAVEL
If electric seat movement stops unexpectedly during folding or raising, check for and remove any obstructions. Once any obstructions have been removed, continue the seat movement by pressing the appropriate button.
If no obstructions can be seen, and normal movement cannot be carried out, contact a retailer/authorized repairer.
REMOTE SEATS
