Meter Instruments

  1. Ambient Brightness Sensor

Boot Up

NOTE

  • The bootup animation is not interrupted even if the vehicle starts moving. You should start the vehicle after the home screen is displayed.
  • The meter instruments may take longer than usual to boot up if the ignition switch is repeatedly turned on and off.

Forward Collision Warning Light When the FCW system detects a possible frontal collision, these red warning lights and alert symbol on the display screen blink.

NOTE

  • The system does not apply the brakes. Avoid collisions by proper maneuvering: apply brakes, change lanes, etc.
  • The system may not function under certain conditions. See the Front Rader Assist section for more information: precaution, limitation, etc.

Shift-up Indicator

The forward collision warning lights also serve as the shift-up indicator. In this case, these LEDs blink white to inform the rider of the next upshift timing when the engine speed reaches the set value.

NOTE
Before reaching the set engine speed, the gear position indicator starts blinking. And then it turns orange while the shift-up indicator is blinking.

How to Set
The set value can be adjusted and this function can also be turned off. Refer to the Vehicle Settings section.

Ambient Brightness Sensor
The brightness of the metering instrument is controlled automatically depending on the ambient brightness.

NOTE
Be careful not to cover the ambient brightness sensor on the metering instrument while riding the motorcycle.

Meter Instrument Brightness Setting
The brightness of the metering instrument can be adjusted manually in three levels. Refer to the Settings section.

Home Screen

The home screen can display all the functions of the meter instruments. Some elements can be switched by the control buttons.
Since there are many elements to display, the screen will be divided into three areas and explained in order in the Home Screen section.

Menu Mode Screen

The menu mode screen can set various functions of the vehicle. This screen can be switched from the home screen with one button, and you can ride the vehicle with this screen displayed, but when you compare it to the home screen, there is fewer display items. In addition, it can be mirrored a some apps of a wireless-connected mobile device using the Kawasaki SPIN app.
