2022 Kawasaki NINJA H2 SX SE KIPASS Owner’s Manual
KIPASS
This motorcycle has the KIPASS (Kawasaki’s Intelligent Proximity Activation Start System), which can start the engine and lock the steering by only carrying the FOB. This system contains the FOB, KIPASS ECU (ignition switch) and spare key.
NOTE
When the battery is discharged, this system cannot operate the ignition switch.
KIPASS Indicator/Key Knob Indicator
When the battery voltage of the FOB is discharged or FOB is lost, the warning message appears or the key knob indicator blinks to alert the rider. If the KIPASS is failed, the key knob indicator goes on after the ignition switch is turned on. Have the KIPASS checked by an authorized Kawasaki dealer?
- If the following warning message appears, the battery voltage of the FOB is almost discharged. Replace the battery of the FOB (see Battery Replacement).
- If the following warning message appears after the motorcycle starts to move, it means that FOB has been lost, or the battery in the FOB is dead.
- If you turn off the ignition switch while KIPASS does not detect the FOB, the following screen appears and the key knob indicator blinks. The ignition switch can be turned on for these 5 seconds. Even after 5 seconds, you can turn it on by push down the key knob and turning it. Start the engine again while key knob indicator blinks for 35 seconds. After 35 seconds elapsed, the ignition switch will not be able to turn on.
