Throttle Cable Adjustment
Inspect the throttle grip for smooth operation in all steering positions. Check and adjust the throttle cable in accordance with the Periodic Maintenance Chart.

B. 2 3 mm (0.080.12 in.)

C. Locknut
D. Adjuster
If the free play cannot be set with the adjuster on the upper end of the throttle cable, pull the rubber boot off top of the carburetor and make the necessary free play adjustment with the adjuster on the lower end of the cable. Then, tighten the locknut and reinstall the rubber boot.

With the engine idling, turn the handlebars both ways and check if handlebars movement changes the idle speed. If so, the throttle cable may be improperly adjusted or incorrectly routed, or dam- aged. Be sure to correct any of these conditions before riding.

Operation with improperly adjusted, incorrectly routed, or damaged cable could result in an unsafe riding condition. Be sure the control cable is adjusted and routed cor rectly, and is free from damage.
