Tires:
The tires listed below have been approved by Kawasaki for this model. Other tire combinations are not recommended.

Standard Tires

NOTE

  • Tires are an important part of the suspension o your ATV. Tire construction characteristics and tire inflation pressure can greatly influence vehicle handling. Kawasaki recommends that you always replace tires with standard replacement tires as shown above. It is also very important to have tires of the same type and size, and at the same inflation pressure, on one axle.
  • Installation of non-standard tires, or use of different tires on one axle, can change the handling of the vehicle and possibly result in a loss of control.

Payload and Tire Pressure
Failure to maintain proper inflation pressures or observe payload limits for your tires may adversely affect the handling and performance Of your vehicle and can result in loss Of control. The maximum recommended load-carrying capacity Of this vehicle is 85 kg (187 lb).

NOTE
The low-pressure tire gauge is included as standard equipment. Make two measurements Of the tire pressure and use the second reading. Dust or dirt in the gauge could cause the first reading to be incorrect.

HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD
Always use the size and type tires specified in the Owner’s Manual for this vehicle. Always maintain proper tire pressure as described in this Owner’s Manual.

Tire Air Pressure (when cold)

Low-pressure tire gauge

Tire Wear, Damage
As tire tread wears down, tires become more susceptible to puncture and failure. In accordance with the Periodic Maintenance Chart, measure the depth Of the tread with a depth gauge, and replace any tire that has worn down to the minimum allowable tread depth.

Tire wear limit
When the tire groove decreases to 3 mm (0.12 in.) due to wear, replace the tire.

  • Visually inspect the tire for cracks and cuts. replace the tire in case Of bad damage. Swelling or high spots indicate internal damage. requiring tire replacement.
  • Remove any imbedded stones or Other foreign particles from the tread.

Wheel removal

  1. Elevate the wheel by placing a suitable stand under the frame.
  2. Remove the nuts from the wheel.
  3. Remove the wheel assembly.

1. Safe nut

Wheel installation:
When installing the wheel, reverse the removal procedure. Pay attention to the following.

Wheel nut torque:

  • Front: 45 (4.6 kgf•m, 33 ft•lb)
  • Rear: 45 (4.6 kgf•m, 33 ft•lb)
