2022 Kawasaki KFX 90 ATV Spark Arrester

Spark Arrester

Be sure the exhaust pipe and muffler are cool before cleaning the spark arrester.

1. Remove the bolt.

2. Remove the tailpipe by pulling it out of the muffler.
3. Tap the tailpipe lightly, then use a wire brush to remove any carbon deposits from the spark arrester portion of the tailpipe.

   2. Spark arrester
4. Insert the tailpipe into the muffler and align the screw holes.
5. Install the bolt and tighten it.

Tightening torque:
Spark arrester bolt: 11 N.m (1.1 kgf•m, 8 lbf•ft)

POTENTIAL HAZARD
Improper cleaning Of the spark arrester.

WHAT CAN HAPPEN
Could injure the eyes. Could cause burns. Could cause carbon monoxide poisoning, possibly leading to death. Could start a fire.

HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD
When cleaning the spark arrester: Always let the exhaust system cool prior to touching exhaust components. Do not start the engine when cleaning the exhaust system.
