LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT SAFETY
Make sure the following warnings have been read and fully understood before using the luggage compartment. Failure to do so can lead to serious injury or death.
Never allow passengers to travel in the luggage compartment under any circumstances.
All items carried in the vehicle should be properly secured. During an accident or sudden maneuver, loose items can move with great force.
LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT COVER
Make sure the relevant safety warnings have been read and understood before using the luggage compartment. See LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT SAFETY.
Never place objects on top of the luggage compartment cover. During an accident or sudden maneuver, loose objects can cause serious injury or death.
To remove the luggage compartment cover:
- Release the two straps from the pins on the tailgate.
- Pull the luggage compartment cover forward to release the locking pins.
- Lift the luggage compartment cover out of the locking pin guides.
Do not store the luggage compartment cover loose in the vehicle. During an accident or sudden maneuver, the luggage compartment cover could cause serious injury or death.
To refit the luggage compartment cover:
- Locate the locking pins on the luggage compartment cover into the recesses.
- Push back the luggage compartment cover to lock the cover into place.
- Fit the lifting straps for the luggage compartment cover over the pins on the tailgate. Pull down lightly on the straps until they click into place.
LUGGAGE ANCHOR POINTS
Make sure the relevant safety warnings have been read and understood before using the luggage compartment. See LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT SAFETY.
- Bag hooks: The bag hooks should only be used for light weight items.
- Fixed anchor points: Use to assist in safely securing large items.
- Adjustable lashing eyes: Use to assist in safely securing large items.
If adjustable anchor points are fitted, first turn the locking button counter-clockwise to unlock (1). Press and hold the locking switch while sliding the lashing eye to the required position in the luggage rail.
Release the locking switch to latch the lashing eye into position. The lashing eye is now secured. Turn the switch clockwise to lock. Luggage retention accessories can be inserted into the hole (2) in the lashing eye.
