LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT COVER
Never place objects on top of the luggage compartment cover. During an accident or sudden maneuver, loose objects can cause serious injury or death.
Do not store the luggage compartment cover loose in the vehicle. During an accident or sudden maneuver, the luggage compartment cover could cause serious injury or death.
The luggage compartment cover lifts and closes with tailgate movement. If the left and right luggage compartment straps are released from the tailgate pins, as illustrated, the compartment cover is not affected by tailgate movement.
The luggage compartment cover can be removed, if required:
- With the tailgate open, release the luggage compartment straps from the tailgate pins.
- Pull the luggage compartment cover rearward, to release the securing brackets of the cover from the pins on the luggage compartment side trim. The securing brackets are on the edges of the luggage compartment cover.
Installation of the luggage compartment cover is the reverse of the removal procedure.
LUGGAGE ANCHOR POINTS
All items carried in the vehicle should be properly secured. If the vehicle is involved in an accident, subject to sudden braking or a change of direction, loose items can cause serious injury.
In some markets, a range of approved luggage retention accessories is available from a retailer/authorized repairer.
Coupe vehicles have two anchor points in the luggage compartment, as illustrated, to assist in safely securing items.LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT EMERGENCY RELEASE
The mechanical luggage compartment emergency release provides a means of escape in the event of someone being locked in the luggage compartment. Adults are advised to familiarize themselves with the operation of the release handle. The release handle glows in the dark and is located inside the luggage compartment, as illustrated. To open the tailgate or trunk lid from the inside, pull the handle while pushing the tailgate or trunk lid upward. Return the handle to its storage position after use.
