2022 Jaguar F-TYPE Windows

ELECTRIC WINDOWS

WARNING

Make sure to remove the smart key when leaving the vehicle to prevent unsupervised operation of the windows and sunroof. Unsupervised operation of the windows and sunroof may result in an injury.

WARNING

Do not allow children to operate the windows unsupervised. Improper operation of the windows may result in serious injury or death.

Window switches:

  • The windows operate for 5 minutes after the engine is switched off, as long as none of the doors are opened.
  • Briefly press the switch to open or close a window, when the door is closed. Press the switch again to stop window travel.
  • Both windows have a one-touch facility.
CAUTION

Any ice must be removed from the windows before operating. Operating icy windows can cause damage to the windows operating system.
Vehicles with a glass panoramic roof are supplied with a roof blind. The sunroof blind is manually operated to any position, via the recessed handle at the front of the roof blind.

CAUTION
Any other method of operation may cause misalignment or damage to the roof blind.

WINDOW ANTI-TRAP PROTECTION

WARNING

Before closing a window or the sunroof, make sure that no occupants have any body part in a position where it could be trapped. Even with an anti-trap system, death or serious injury could occur.

Anti-trap protection is designed to stop window movement if an obstruction or resistance is detected. Check the window and its aperture. Remove any obstructions. The override procedure is as follows:

  1. Attempt to close the window. Anti-trap prevents closure and lowers the window.
  2. Within 10 seconds, attempt to raise the window again. Anti-trap prevents closure and lowers the window.
  3. Attempt to close the window for the third time, this time holding the switch in the close position. The window raises while the switch is held. Hold until closed.
NOTES

If this procedure fails to remove the blockage, or if the windows do not operate correctly, the window operation may need to be reset. See WINDOW RESET.

SOLAR ATTENUATING GLASS

NOTES

The toll road transponder should be in the size-appropriate location on the driver’s side of the windshield.

NOTES

Transponders, mounted on the front license plate plinth, can be used as an alternative, dependent on the market and availability.

  • The solar attenuating glass windshield filters sunlight passing through a special laminated layer.
  • Electronic actuating cards, such as toll road transponders cards or Radio Frequency (RF) ID tags, can be fixed at the dedicated locations.
  • The dedicated locations can be found on the inside of the windshield. If these cards are located at any other part of a solar attenuating windshield, the electronic scanners may not recognize them.
  • The optimal fixing location is at the top of the windshield, as shown in (1), close to the interior rearview mirror.
