Different driving modes can be selected to suit the current driving conditions or driving style.
Each driving mode adjusts the performance characteristics of the engine, transmission, steering, and suspension.
The following driving modes are available:
The normal driving mode is automatically selected when the vehicle’s ignition is switched on. An alternative driving mode can be selected if required. See DRIVING MODES OPERATION.
The following features are also available:
The driving mode switch is located on the center console. To select a driving mode:
The relevant LED on the switch illuminates to confirm which driving mode is selected.
Repeat the selection process to return to the normal driving mode. The switch LED extinguishes to confirm that the normal driving mode has been selected.
Make sure the correct driving mode for the prevailing conditions is selected. Failure to select the correct driving mode could result in vehicle damage.
Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) operation is automatically adapted to suit the selected driving mode. See DYNAMIC STABILITY CONTROL (DSC) OVERVIEW.
The rain ice snow driving mode helps to enhance the vehicle’s stability in low grip conditions.
Select the rain ice snow driving mode when driving in adverse weather conditions. For example, in icy or rainy conditions and on surfaces such as grass, gravel, or snow.
The rain ice snow driving mode helps the vehicle to perform in a gentle and controlled manner, avoiding skidding and improving progress in adverse conditions.
Winter tires and all-season tires also help to further enhance the vehicle’s stability in adverse weather conditions.
Dynamic mode adjusts the performance characteristics of the engine, transmission, steering, and suspension, to create a more dynamic driving experience.
Transmission up-shifts are fully controlled by the driver if:
The instrument panel briefly illuminates the gearshift warning lamp at the recommended up-shift change point. See GEARSHIFT (GREEN).
The driver must maintain full control of the vehicle at all times. Failure to maintain full control of the vehicle could result in serious injury or death.
The dynamic launch feature enhances the vehicle’s ability to accelerate away from a standstill.
Before activating the dynamic launch feature, make sure:
To activate the dynamic launch feature:
Prolonged application of the brake pedal deactivates the dynamic launch feature.
Manual gear selections via the gearshift paddles override operation of the dynamic launch feature.
The dynamic launch feature is not active once the accelerator pedal is released from the full travel position.
The dynamic launch feature remains available for further use for a short period of time.
The Dynamic-i feature allows the driver to configure the dynamic driving mode to suit personal preferences.
Make sure that the dynamic driving mode is selected before selecting the Dynamic-i feature. See DRIVING MODES OPERATION.
The Dynamic-i feature is selected from the touchscreen’s EXTRA FEATURES menu. See EXTRA FEATURES.
Do not adjust the touchscreen controls, or allow the system to distract the driver, while the vehicle is moving. Driver distraction can lead to accidents, potentially causing serious injury or death.
The Dynamic-i screen displays the following information:
The Dynamic-i selections are retained after the vehicle’s ignition is switched off.
