Idle Speed
Idle Speed Adjustment
- Remove the bolts and washers.
- Pull the left frame cover outward to clear the projections, and remove the left frame cover backward to clear the hook.

- Start the engine, and warm it up thoroughly.
- Adjust the idle speed by turning the idle adjusting screw.
NOTE
While the engine is cold, the fast idle system automatically raises the engine idling speed.
Idle Speed
1 050 — 1 150 r/min (rpm)
A. Idle Adjusting Screw
- Open and close the throttle a few times to make sure that the idle speed does not change. Readjust if necessary.
- With the engine idling, turn the handlebars to each side. If handlebars movement changes the idle speed, the throttle cables may be improperly adjusted or incorrectly routed, or they may be damaged. Be sure to correct any of these conditions before riding.
WARNING
Operation with damaged cables could result in an unsafe riding conditions. Replace damaged control cables before operation. Install the removed parts.
