Ignition Timing

Since this motorcycle is equipped with a capacitor discharge ignition (CDI) system, the ignition timing should never require adjustment unless the stator was incorrectly installed during engine reassembly. If there is any doubt as to the timing, inspect and, if necessary, adjust it as follows. Remove the magneto cover and the gasket. If the gasket is damaged, it should be replaced.
