2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Storage Tips
STORING THE VEHICLE
If you are storing your vehicle for more than three weeks, we recommend that you take the following steps to minimize the drain on your vehicle’s battery:
- Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
- Any time you store your vehicle or keep it out of service (i.e., on vacation) for two weeks or more, run the air conditioning system at idle for about five minutes in the fresh air and high blower setting. This will ensure adequate system lubrication to minimize the possibility of compressor damage when the system is started again.
- When storing your vehicle for an extended period of time, make sure to clean it thoroughly before doing so. This will help prevent the build–up of dirt and grime that can occur over time.
- If possible, store your vehicle in a garage or other covered area. This will protect it from the elements and help keep it clean.
- If you must store your vehicle outdoors, cover it with a tarp or other protective covering. This will help keep it clean and dry.
- Make sure to disconnect the battery and other electrical components before storing your vehicle. This will help prevent damage from occurring while the vehicle is in storage.
- Fill the gas tank before storing your vehicle. This will help prevent the formation of rust inside the tank.
