Activating and deactivating automatic steering wheel heating
The automatic start of steering wheel heating can be set to be activated/deactivated when the driver gets into the vehicle. With automatic start activated, heating will be turned on at an ambient temperature of 10 ºC (50 ºF) or lower.
- Open the Climate view in the center display by swiping upwards in the Home view.
- Tap Settings in the Climate view.
- Select desired setting under Auto start steering wheel heat to activate/deactivate automatic steering wheel heating.
- Optional/accessory – The equipment described in the Manual is not available in all cars – the cars have different equipment depending on adaptations for the needs of different markets and national or local laws and regulations.
Activating and deactivating the heated steering wheel
- Tap the driver’s side seat button in the climate bar in the center display to open the controls for steering wheel heating.
- Tap the steering wheel heating button repeatedly to turn on/off heating and to switch between the three heat levels.
> The level is changed and the set level is displayed on the button.

Adjusting the steering wheel
The steering wheel’s reach and height can be adjusted.
Adjust the steering wheel and ensure it locks into position before driving. Never adjust the steering wheel while driving.
Adjusting the steering wheel
Steering wheel adjuster lever.- Move the lever forward to release the steering wheel.
- Adjust the steering wheel to the desired position.
- Pull the lever back to lock the steering wheel into place. If the lever is difficult to move, press the steering wheel lightly while pulling the lever.
Speed-dependent steering wheel resistance
Reduced powerIn rare situations, the power steering may need to work at reduced power and the steering wheel may then feel more difficult to move. This may happen when the power steering becomes too hot and needs to be temporarily cooled. It can also happen if there is a disturbance in the power supply.
On reduced power, the message Power steering assistance Temporarily reduced is shown, and this symbol appears on the instrument panel.
While the power steering is working at reduced power, the driver support functions and systems with steering assistance are not available.
If the temperature rises too high, the power steering may be forced to switch off completely. In such a situation, the driver display shows the message Stop safely Power steering failure along with a symbol.
Changing the level of steering wheel resistance
- Tap in the center display.
- Tap Drive.
- Select a steering setting.
Steering wheel resistance settings can only be accessed if the vehicle is stationary or is moving straight ahead at a low speed.

The horn is located in the center of the steering wheel.
